The rules of the road
Terms of Service
These are the terms you agree to when you take part in VicFalls Connect — what you can expect from the community, and what the community expects from you.
Last updated 4 October 2026. Written in plain language on purpose: if anything here is unclear, ask us through Support and we will explain it.
Using VicFalls Connect
By reading the feed, sharing a story or creating a profile, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the community.
- VicFalls Connect is a community space for people travelling to, living in and working around Victoria Falls.
- These terms cover the whole platform: the feed, profiles, comments, direct messages, itineraries, events and the community map.
- You must be old enough to hold an account in your own country, and at least 16 years old, to take part.
Your profile and your identity
The community works without passwords. You join by creating a profile that is stored on the device you use, and you are responsible for keeping access to it.
- Your recovery code is the only way to open your profile on another device. Keep it somewhere safe — anyone who has it can open your profile.
- Names, photos and descriptions must be honest about who you are, or about the business you represent.
- Do not create a profile pretending to be another person, a business you do not run, or a member of the community team.
- You can add, correct or clear your profile at any time from Account Settings.
What you share
Everything you post stays yours. You give the community permission to show it to other members, and you are responsible for making sure you have the right to share it.
- Only upload photos and videos that you took, or that you have permission to share. Tagging a business does not give you that permission.
- Ask before photographing people, especially children and people in the villages and townships around the falls.
- Do not post other people's private information, contact details, booking references or financial information.
- Stories should be about Victoria Falls, its people, its wildlife and the experiences around them.
How we treat each other
This is a small community and most people here are guests in it. Harassment, hate and dishonest dealing are not welcome.
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content aimed at other members, or repeated unwanted contact.
- No scams: fake tours, fake accommodation, advance-payment requests, or impersonating a licensed operator or guide.
- No spam, mass-messaging, or using the community to advertise things unrelated to Victoria Falls travel.
- Disagree about a spot or an operator by all means — keep it about the experience, not the person.
Direct messages
Chats are private between the members in them, and every member controls who may start one.
- You choose who can start a chat with you in Privacy Settings: anyone, only your connections, or nobody new.
- Reporting a chat closes it for you and sends the details to the community team.
- Do not forward or screenshot a private chat to humiliate or expose another member.
- Messages sent through the community are not a secure channel — never send card numbers, passport scans or payment details.
Tours, bookings and money
VicFalls Connect is a community and a directory. It is not a booking agent, and it takes no part in the arrangements you make with operators.
- Any booking, payment, activity or transport is an agreement between you and that business alone.
- Always confirm a licensed operator, your insurance and the safety briefings before you pay or take part.
- Prices, dates, opening times and availability shown by members can change without notice.
- If a business on the platform behaves badly, tell us through Support and we will review it.
Likes, comments and privacy
Your interactions are part of your profile, and your privacy settings decide how visible they are.
- Liking a story or commenting on one records that interaction against your profile, visible according to your settings.
- Set who can see your likes and comments — everyone, your connections, or only you — in Privacy Settings.
- Your own My Activity page always shows your full history to you alone.
- Deleting a story or a comment removes the interaction from the community feed with it.
Moderation and removal
The community team may remove content or a profile that breaks these terms, and will always try to explain why.
- Report a story, comment, message or member through Support. Reports are read by the community team.
- Content breaking these terms can be hidden or deleted, and repeat offenders can be removed from the community.
- You can remove your own stories, comments and profile at any time from the pages where they live.
- We may update these terms as the community grows. Continuing to use VicFalls Connect means you accept the current version.
Limits of our responsibility
The community is a place to swap real travel experience. It is not professional, medical or safety advice, and it comes with no guarantees about any business listed on it.
- Tips, reviews and itineraries are other members' experiences, offered as opinions rather than instructions.
- Check official sources, the weather, the water levels and your own operator's advice before any activity.
- We do not guarantee that the platform is always available or free of errors, though we work to keep it that way.
- Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law of your own country.
Questions, or something to report?
If a member, a business or a story breaks these terms, tell us and the community team will look into it. For anything else, ask away.
